Prohibition mania absurd smoking ban in public schools to roads
The prohibition mania is taking on ever more grotesque proportions. Now some schools want their students - ban smoking on public roads - even the over 18-year-old. It is threatened with draconian penalties.
In Bavaria, Cham, near the Czech border, is on the "Cham Schulberg" may no longer be smoked. This was agreed all the schools of the "Cham's school." This is however not a campus, but public roads leading to schools on Cham Schulberg.
Students who do not abide by this ban threaten massive fines. First, there is an entry in a list, the second time it rains a reference. When a child is three times caught smoking outside on the public roads on Schulberg, he is forced to occupy an anti-smoking course. Should students, even if they are over 18 years, still does not prevent this madness ban, there should be a tighter link. The newspaper reported the Mittelbayerische.
Andrew Booker of the Cham vocational school presented as the initiator of the project. The Mayor Karin Bucher (FDP) and the police were present. School, city and police want to achieve by this prohibition orgy that pollution from cigarette waste is returned. On the simple idea to set up ashtrays, can not seem to come in Cham. There is also a "pedagogical": It wants to ensure that smoking students disappear from the view of group of young students. Supposedly because of the bad example that would make smoking students.
Joseph Maier, head of the Cham schools goes one step further: He wants to spoon-feed not only the students, but his school would "encourage" the parents not to smoke more on the public roads around the Cham Schulberg.
Spokeswoman Nicole Steinbach of the Bavarian Ministry of Culture is true that the Cham ban madness "sounds good", but they warned strongly against using references and similar penalties. She said that through with the whole thing as a voluntary action. The Ministry of Culture has probably realized that a school may well extend no such prohibitions on public roads. A legal battle would lose schools with high probability.
The Cham police promised to support the campaign. It will strengthen the road at Cham Schulberg control and throw students the cigarette butts on the street would impose a fine of 20 € and report the student to the school.
In a non-representative online survey of the Central Bavarian newspaper, spoke only 28.57 percent of the respondents from these banning spree. 35.71 percent said that these prohibitions were "completely exaggerated" and argued further 35.71 percent, "but that the police take up smoking and students should report to the schools, a disproportionate criminalization is the same."
